Texas BBQ at the Orange County Fair (Cutting Brisket)
It's Fair time again in Orange County. The OC Fair opened last Friday, July 16th and will run until Sunday, August 16th, 2010. There is never more to do and eat in Orange County than when the Fair is in town. They offer it all -- Fabulous and wacky food, Culinary Arts Competitions, Table Setting Competitions, Wine Tasting, Ice Sculpting, concerts, rides, shopping, animals, games, exhibits, Farm, Floral and Livestock Competitions, Pig Races, demonstrations, seminars, collections, family fun in the sun, and so much more. The Orange County Fair is a happenin' place.
Although it's too late to enter many of the Culinary (and other) Competitions, a few one-day 'Special Culinary Competitions' are still accepting entries. This year there's a Bacon Bac-Off, Chili, Wings & Salsa Challenge, OC Cupcake Classic and more. See the Culinary Arts Guide (pages 15 - 19) to learn more about all. Photos from last year's Single Day Pie Competition may provide a little insight. To enter one simply needs to sign-up and then show-up with the goods/entry on competition day. It's not too late to earn a ribbon this year and you get FREE admission just for entering. Good luck.
TIP: Before heading out to the OC Fair, pull up their promotion's page to check out the daily specials. They offer lots of ways to save.
Enjoy the 2010 Orange County Fair -- Happily the beat goes on! Support the OC Fairgrounds.
