Angels baseball food: Original Tommy's chili for tailgating and couch munchies

Tommy's Chili Cheese Fries, make 'em at home too

Are you looking for something tasty before, during or after the big game?  Since our local Angels are doing so well this year, the "big game" could be the World Series.  Until then, every game is big and so are the appetites of the many fans.  If you're lucky enough to have tickets to the game, tailgating is a fun way to enjoy the time before the game, especially since propane and gas BBQ's are allowed in and around the stadium parking lot.  Be sure to check out the Angel Stadium of Anaheim Tailgate Policy, before lugging all your goods.

When tailgating, the food options are endless -- Should you go gourmet or stick with hot dogs and hamburgers?  To simplify, how about jazzing up the old faithful?  At one Angels' game we witnessed barbequed Ball Park Franks being loaded with Original Tommy's famous chili and cheese.  Those BBQ'ing shrimp and filet mignon were envious.  It's easy and special to get a pint or more of Original Tommy's chili to go -- Its use is almost endless as a dip, topping or recipe ingredient, but the best meals are often most simple.  The mere addition of this chili takes a hot dog to a whole new level.

If preparing game munchies at home, one can easily make a large batch of chili cheese fries for the gang using Original Tommy's chili to go and a bag of your favorite frozen French fries.  Just cook the fries in the oven until crisp, cover with slices of American cheese, then top with hot chili and serve with a side of dill pickle slices.  The gang will go wild.  Making your own chili cheese fries at home guarantees they'll be crisp when ready to eat.  And since Original Tommy's has been voted to have the best chili cheese fries in town, it's a treat to have 'em with a beer, on a comfortable couch, while (especially) watching the Angels win.

Learn how the Angels are doing now -- The Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim Examiner reports the latest.  Let's hope for an Angels/Dodgers World Series, with Original Tommy's chili on a Dodger Dog perhaps?  Go Angels!  After that, it's on to cozy at home football and more chili dishes.  Be sure to check out the football and food reports to see all that's being served up during sports season.
