Since the restaurant focus highlight is on venues with great patios and views, what comes to mind is the Orange Hill Restaurant in Orange. It has sit atop the same steep hill for around 40 years and offers beautiful views of Orange County all the way to Catalina. You'll be hard-pressed to find a better view anywhere. All can be seen from most seats inside the restaurant and outside on the spacious patio next to one of the coveted fire rings.
Orange Hill Restaurant is a terrific place for special occasions, romantic dinners, brunch and/or sightseeing with a drink, appetizer and a chair. It should be added to your list of the "best restaurant views" in Orange County. And yes, there's a long list of Orange County restaurants with great views and patios -- mostly ocean views, as the OC runs through Huntington Beach, Newport, Corona Del Mar, Laguna, San Clemente and more.
