
Apple Streusel Pie
Quick & easy buttery apple pie made with canned apples and a streusel crumb topping. Sliced apples, chopped walnuts, coconut, brown sugar and spices all in a flaky pie crust. Make this apple streusel pie for Thanksgiving & Christmas!
Apple Streusel Pie Recipe
- 1) 20 ounce can sliced apples, packed in water, drained
- 1/2 cup white sugar
- 1/2 cup brown sugar, packed
- 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 cup butter, melted
- 1) 9" pie crust, unbaked
Streusel CrumbTopping Recipe
- 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/4 cup white sugar
- Pinch salt
- 2 Tablespoon butter, melted
- 1/4 cup chopped walnuts
- 1/3 cup flaked and sweetened coconut
How To Make an Apple Streusel Pie
- Drain apples, place in large mixing bowl.
- Add all other filling ingredients and mix with a spoon or spatula.
- Pour into your favorite unbaked pie crust. Set aside.
- In the same bowl, mix flour, sugar, salt, and butter with hands or pastry blender until crumbly and looks like streusel.
- Add walnuts and coconut and mix in.
- Sprinkle streusel topping evenly over apple pie.
- Bake at 375 degrees for 40-50 minutes or until bubbly and topping is lightly toasted.
- Cool before serving.
- Makes one 9 inch Apple Streusel Pie that serves 8.
