Finding good gluten free options can be difficult for anyone who is gluten intolerant or has Celiac disease. If you're looking for a good gluten free restaurant in the Framingham/Natick area, give Fresh City a look. It's technically a Natick restaurant, but we'll cut it some slack and call it Framingham, given that it's a stone's throw over the town line.
Fresh City Gluten Free Menu
Fresh City, located on Route 9 near Legal Sea Foods and Fun and Games, is a bright, festive restaurant, similar in style to a Panera Bread. Counter service, lots of tables and booths, free wireless access, and easy parking make the logistics and atmosphere efficient and practical. Need a place to get a healthy gluten free meal while doing some work or studying? Fresh City fits the bill.
The Fresh City gluten free menu has a fair amount of variety, unlike your typical "house salad and a chicken breast cooked on a cleaned portion of the grill" standby so many GF diners experience. You want soup? They have GF soup! You want a GF burrito? Yep--except hold the tortilla. You get the innards in a bowl, minus the wrap. Stir fries, smoothies, and salads round out the offerings for gluten free diners. On a recent trip the Organic Tomato Basil soup coupled with a Chicken Burrito Grande in a bowl was a wonderful departure from typical GF restaurant choices in this price range. The entire meal, out the door, cost less than $12 and was really enough for a meal and a half.
Gluten Free Catering
Tired of the same non-gluten-free food at office parties? Fresh City also offers catering. Stick a bug in the office manager's ear and at the next office conference or party you might be able to eat something other than...a house salad with a plain chicken breast. Finding restaurants that are gluten-savvy and that cater is nearly impossible, so Fresh City is a Framingham gluten free gem.
