Baltimore's businesses are moving east - where should employees eat?

Many of Baltimore’s downtown/Inner Harbor restaurants have become lunchtime staples for busy employees, but with the current eastward shift of businesses – as noted in The Sun – relocated workers are left wondering where to grab lunch and enjoy happy hours after a long day. A few thoughts in Harbor East/Fells Point:

Lebanese Taverna, 719 S. President St.
Amazing array of Lebanese staples and a great Thursday “5 After 5” happy hour from 5-10 p.m., featuring $5 martinis and appetizers

Blue Moon Café, 1621 Aliceanna St.
Famous for a brunch line that extends down the block, but offers excellent lunches, as well. Very small space, so prepare to carry out.

RA Sushi, 1390 Lancaster St.
A little pricey, and a chain restaurant, but interesting combinations. Excellent happy hour specials and crowd.

Shuckers, 1629 Thames St.
Looking for a low-key place to take clients? Shuckers offers great seafood on the water - and an excellent wait staff.

Cinghale, 822 Lancaster St.
Divided into the Enoteca (wine bar) and Osteria (dining room), and the Enoteca features Tuesday night cellar raids with bottles at 50% off.

Talara, 615 S. President St.

Teavolve, 1401 Aliceanna St.
I’ve heard great things about the bubble tea – try for yourself.

Taco Fiesta, 618 S. Exeter St.
Small Mexican place in the heart of Harbor East

Whole Foods, 1001 Fleet St.,
World’s best salad bar. I will not relent.

Anywhere in Little Italy – especially Vaccaro’s

Starbucks, 635 S. President St.
Hey, everyone needs their coffee and the occasional muffin.

Roy's, 720 S. President St.
After reading several comments, I was delighted to learn that Roy's, a Hawaiian fusion restaurant right on
the circle in Harbor East, is open for lunch.  I'll definitely have to stop by.

Lemongrass at 1300 Bank St. is also excellent.

I recommend the Pad Woonsen with chicken - only $7.95 for lunch. The noodles are sweet and the veggies are fresh. If you're still hungry - the sticky rice with mango is the best I've ever had (and I'm a bit of a sticky rice junkie).

How about some love for Evolution Burger? Granted, it's not a traditional sit-down restaurant, but the burgers and fries are great and there's tons of outside seating.

Don't forget Ledo Pizza at Southside Marketplace.

I have heard that Lemongrass is excellent. Mike, I'm actually looking for someone to review Evolution Burger, because I can't eat red meat. Interested?

Roy's is now open for lunch. Elevation Burger is excellent and has three vegetarian options. In addition, one can get their burger wrapped in lettuce if you are "carb concious." Finally, I would mention Houlihan's, near the Aquarium.

Roy's Hawaiian Restaurant is a great place for lunch with sandwich's, unique seafood dishes and their Bento Box is to die for. Only open for lunch Monday thru Friday. We ate there twice last week.

    Renee,
One of our regulars, who reads your articles, brought it to our attention that Roy's is not listed on your where to dine for lunch in Harboreast. I humbly submit that we are open for lunch and would love to be added to the list if it all possible? Thank you for your attention to this matter and your support of Harboreast eateries!!!

Meli America Bistro, in Fells Point is about a seven minute walk from the Harbor East area. Features a lunch menu that will surprise you; from a tuna burger to the omelette of the day. You will also be able to get coffee and pastries at the patisserie, or simply book a company social in the Minoan Room, the perfect setup to end your day or begin your evening.
