November is National Pomegranate Month. This little fruit is a powerhouse of antioxidants, and since it's prime season for finding pomegranates, why not try it in a few new dishes? Even add it to things you currently make. You might just find a new favorite in your recipe box.
Check back weekly in November for new pomegranate recipes and food tips. To get you started, try a simple cocktail:
Cosmopolitan (with pomegranate juice)
1 3/4 oz. vodka
1/3 oz. orange liqueur
1/3 oz. pomegranate juice
1/3 oz. fresh lime juice
Directions:
Pour ingredients into a shaker filled with ice. Shake sharply. Strain into glass. Garnish with a twist of lime.
Poinsettia
2/3 sparkling wine to 1/3 pomegranate juice
Pour and serve in a champagne glass.
For a non-alcoholic twist, substitute sparkling water or lemon-lime soda for the sparkling wine.
