The Snook Foundation has scheduled a family fund raising event in April. The event, to be held at the River Palms Cottages in Jensen Beach the will feature a family friendly fishing tournament and will introduce a new angler driven data collecting program.
The Angler Action Program is an angler driven data collection program. The program includes an online logbook that gives inshore anglers the chance to become part of the solution to declining fish stocks. Data collected by anglers will contribute to sound, science-based fishery management decisions.
The Snook Foundation is inviting angling friends and family to take an active role in protecting our game fish and learning how to use the Inshore Angler Action Program activity kit. Just a short run north of the St. Lucie Inlet, River Palms Cottages is a wonderful old Florida style facility located on the scenic Indian River Lagoon. This incredible location offers a wide variety of inshore flats and beachfront fishing action. The catch and release oriented fishing contest offers awards for anglers who boat, wade walk and paddle. The Snook Foundation has the plan for you to have great time.
Anglers can win prizes in any of the following categories: Redfish - Largest, Spanish Mackerel - Largest, Redfish - Most Releases, Spanish Mackerel - Most Releases, Sea Trout - Largest, Best Catch on Fly, Sea Trout - Most Releases, Best Catch on Foot/Wading, Snook - Most Releases and Best Catch by a Junior.
