Last night's midseason finale of FlashForward was full of revelations about the FlashForward universe that were, in some parts, game changers. Rather than recap the episode in typical story fashion, I want to bullet out the highlights.
- Lloyd Simcoe and Simon Campos announced to the world that there was a possible connection between their (very complex) experiment and the global blackout.
- Mark Benford and Demetri Noh travel to Hong Kong in search of the woman who predicted Demetri's murder, who is later revealed to be Nhadra Udaya (who remains a mystery). Nhadra Udaya reveals that Demetri's murderer is actually supposed to be Mark Benford.
- Mark and Demetri briefly kidnap Nhadra Udaya, but is stopped by Nhadra's men, along with a new character: CIA agent Vogel.
- Demetri's fiance, Zoey, realizes that her vision was not of her wedding with Demetri, but rather his funeral. She goes and talks to Demetri's mother, who was also at the funeral.
- Lloyd and Simon become the most hated people in the world because of their announcement that they may be responsible for the global blackout.
- Simon goes to the FBI to help them figure out who is really responsible for the blackout. When he sees the mysterious tower in Somalia, he reveals that it is his design, but was built in 1991, a full year before he started to develop the concept behind the tower.
- Lloyd, while trying to get his son, Dylan, to a safer hospital, he is attacked and kidnapped himself, leaving Dylan with Olivia Benford (one step closer to her flash forward).
- Because of his actions in Hong Kong, Mark Benford is relieved of his duties at the FBI by Stanford Wedeck. He is no longer a part of the FBI.
- Janis Hawk is preparing to become pregnant by artificial insemination.
- Nhadra Udaya is in cahoots with the mysterious D. Gibbons.
That's a pretty full episode, but is nothing compared to what lay ahead, according to the trailer for the second half of the season that aired directly after it. Be looking forward to more FlashForward news, right here at the FlashForward Examiner.
