Episode two of FlashForward revealed one big bomb related to John Cho's character, Demetri Noh: Demetri Noh will be murdered on March 15th.  This fact was alluded to by the fact that Demetri was one of the many people who had no flash forward during the global blackout, and was confirmed by a woman who had a tip for Demetri from her own flash forward: Demetri will be murdered.

The date that Demetri is going to die has an interesting history to go along with it.  Those who know literature, and more specifically Shakespeare's Julius Caesar, will remember that the murder of Julius Caesar was foretold to him ("beware the ides of March"), and that he was subsequently carried out with the aid of Caesar's closest friend, Brutus.

While some may think that this is merely a coincidence, good storytelling uses links like these to make a statement, and to foreshadow things that are yet to come.  Seeing as FlashForward is a show that fully embraces foreshadowing, it would be wise to assume that the writers are knowledgeable of these kinds of writing conventions, and will use them to press the show forward and to provide easter eggs for the discerning viewers.

So, what kinds of correlations are there concerning Demetri Noh's prophesied death and Julius Caesar?

1. Both had a warning offered them.
2. Both (we believe) die as prophesied.
3. Both had people who were close to them.
4. Neither "saw" it coming.

And what kinds of possibilities should we be ready for?

1. Demetri may become increasingly untrusting of those around him.
2. Demetri may end up being betrayed by someone close to him.
3. His attempts to avoid his future will be the cause of his eventual murder.

As the show progresses toward March 15, 2010, expect events to push forward quickly concerning Demetri's future, or lack thereof.
