Kristin Davis, 45, is in a bikini on the cover of the May issue of Fitness magazine. And girlfriend is looking good.
According to the article, before injuries derailed her, Kristin used to run 7 miles at a time. Now she balances a variety of activities to keep fit: elliptical machine, yoga, Pilates and resistance bands when she's traveling. It’s working.
As for her diet, Davis doesn’t subsist on only salads, either. She eats healthy for the most part - chicken, salmon and eggs – but she goes for treats as well. “If all I ate were salads every day, I'd shoot myself," she says. "Who cares if you can fit in your skinny jeans if you can't enjoy life and have something good to eat?" What’s her treat of choice? “M&Ms.” Love that!
Who says we can’t look great without killing ourselves after 40? Yes, we definitely have to make some adjustments to the way we used to eat and exercise when we were in our 20’s and 30’s, but many over 40 have found a much greater ease and comfort in maintaining fitness than when younger. Granted, weight loss is slower as we age, but there are more and more fit women over 40. Just look at Demi Moore, Madonna, Jennifer Aniston, Courtney Cox, Faith Hill … just to name a few. And it’s not just celebrities. The fact that everyone knows the term “cougar” no longer only refers to a large cat says we’ve accepted the fit, gorgeous over-40 woman as a common sight!
