The hidden scary side effects of Splenda

Boston, I need your help!  Normally I tell you about the latest celebrity diets like "The 4 Day Diet" or "5 Factor Diet" but often similar fad programs include foods with the "magical" product, Splenda.  In my videos on YouTube I get angry comments from our subscribers if a product or recipe includes this sugar substitute.  So now, here is where you come in... If you eat Splenda (or drink it in your coffee) and have a history of migraines I want to hear from you!

For the past year, a very close family member of mine was having terrible migraines.  After a dozen visits to the doctor, no one could pin point what was causing these terrible mind numbing migraines.  They suggested drinking coffee if she ever felt one coming on because caffeine soothed headaches.  This was not your typical headache, ladies and gents.  This was a go home, sit in a ball on the floor of the bathroom, sick to your stomach headache.  Many of us thankfully have and will never experience this type of pain.  But if you have, you know you've researched everything there is related to migraines on the web, or so you think.

After getting repeatedly battered on YouTube by our 24K subscribers for using Splenda products, I decided to research my favorite sweetener.  I was shocked to find TONS of people and groups blaming the artificial sweetener for their migraines and many many other side effects including  nausea, seizures, rashes, and weight gain.  Nine out of ten Americans currently eat artificial sweeteners whether they know it or not.  Forty-five thousand manufactured foods currently contain sucralose (Splenda's chemical name) and that number is growing exponentially.

I mentioned my findings to my family member and unbeknown to me she chose to stop using Splenda for 2 weeks.  Four weeks after she stopped she told me that she had not had a single headache for 2 weeks - she was having headaches daily, migraines weekly.  I was in shock.  How could no one have mentioned this to her before?  I feel obligated to share my findings with everyone out there.  I can't imagine what it must be like having such pain and no doctor can knows to tell you it might be your morning cup of joe!

Read a study about the harmful effects

I'm not a Splenda hater though.  For now, I feel like it's more like an allergy.  Some people can eat it and be fine with it but some can't metabolize the chemical.  Those are the people that have the adverse reactions.  If you or know someone who has already figured out Splenda was the cause of their headaches, please send me an email at BostonFit@gmail.com.  I am looking for people to talk with and perhaps be on camera for our video set to debut in 2 weeks.  Thanks for you help and please share this with someone who may be suffering from a Splenda allergy.

There is a natural alternitive for a a calorie-free sweetener. Stevia is a plant that is native to South America. It's also known as "sweet leaf". In powder form it's not always easy to use for things such as grapefruit. There is a brand of stevia called truvia and it's great on fresh friut. The best part is, it's natural!

This summer I have been feeling very " foggy," agitated, and have had daily headaches. I have been wondering if I have developed depression. I have used Splenda in my coffee for at least a couple of years, when I suddenly ran out. I decided to try some Stevia I had purchased awhile ago until I could get more Splenda. Since then, I feel a fog has been lifted, and no more headaches! Now, no more Splenda.

Every time I have splenda my throat gets itchy and I come down with a sore throat for a couple of days, I searched the internet and can't find anyone else who has this symptom.

You are not alone. I started using splenda in my iced tea about a month ago and have had scratchy throat and hoarse voice. I stopped and switched to plain water and it disappeared. I tried the tea again today and have a scratchy throat again. Bye bye splenda!

I had Gestational Diabetes during my pregnancies so I took Splenda instead of Sugar. I had 2 healthy babies. I think it depends on the person like you said.
