The new Sports Illustrated Swimsuit cover model for 2009 is Bar Refaeli! Most famous for her Hollywood boyfriend (Leo DiCaprio), Bar Refaeli has been modeling since she was just a few months old! Not only does she look fabulous wearing a bikini, it is her third time appearing in the famous SI edition. She's also a great role model for young girls. She is not your typical stick figure model. She has curves and she looks great! So what exactly does Bar do for a diet and workout routine?
When asked recently how she maintains her figure, of course she responded with a healthy diet and exercise of course. She noticeably has killer legs. It's been reported that she tones them with kicking! She works out using martial arts and a self defense type routine that comes from her native country of Israel called Krav Maga. Her trainer is teaching her all kinds of kicks, and she says they work everything -- the abs, the butt, and yep, the legs. Martial-arts moves are part of Refaeli's fitness routine too.
She also enjoys horseback riding which apparently is really good for your core and posture. She has been riding since a little girl and it's a great workout for toning your back, thighs, calves, and abs.
Right after her shoot with Sports Illustrated Bar was quoted as saying:
"They tell you ‘you better not go on a diet before the shoot’. Girls tend to think, ‘Oh my God, I have to be in swimwear, I have to look amazing’. They just say, ‘You better not, girl!’ And they just let you eat all the time during the photo shoot. They love that; they love their girls healthy.”
I love this girl already and she's only 21 years old!
