Ray - Source: www.grecoromanwellness.com/ As I was writing the article about Denis Leary I realized that Leary made a comment which I won't repeat about autism. One thing led to another and I discovered that Ray Salomen, a personal trainer and gym owner, was born with a birth defect that affected his chest muscles. Through his struggles and in spite of them he has developed a fit body and works with children with autism.
Ray has put together some fitness routines for parents of children who are autistic. The point is that the fitness routine is fast and works. You who have children without special needs struggle to find time to work out. Those of you with special kids have even less time.
Ray suggests starting with two minutes of stretching to loosen up the major muscles groups. Once you feel warmed up do as many of the following as your time allows.
THE POWER WAKE UP ROUTINE
Jumping Jacks: 10
Push Ups: 5, 10 or 15, depending on your strength
Leg Raises: 10 (Lying on floor, hands supporting your back, raise your legs together to 90 degrees.)
Repeat this if time allows. Once you build up the endurance to go around 5 times, this workout should take only 10 minutes
LOWER BODY BURNER for strong and toned legs and buns
This less-than 10 minute workout, done only twice a week, will give you stronger legs and tighter buns.
Warm Up
10 jumping jacks
3 squats
10 jumping jacks
3 squats
20 jumping jacks.
Don't forget to drink water!
In-place lunges
Step-out lunges
Jumping jacks
Back-step lunges
Half-lunges in place
