Going to the grocery store can take hours if you are like me. I see a new product and must immediately pick it up. I look at the nutrition information, the price and then place it back on the shelf or in my basket. Rarely do I get a cart unless I'm being environmentally cruel and buying large cases of water. I like to think it burns more calories and on occasion you can see do doing arm curls and upright rows down the isles.
I used to think taking so much time was a personality trait, but after reading the wikipedia entry of Supermarket, I realize it's exploitation of human behavior by the Supermarket industry. According to wikipedia, "Milk, bread, and other essential staple items are usually situated toward the rear of the store and in other out-of-the-way places, purposely done to maximize the customer's time spent in the store, strolling past other items and capitalizing on impulse buying."
I am the queen of impulse buying. This sometimes works out to my benefit as I often discover new healthy foods that help keep my cravings under control and I can better manage my weight. I recently discovered a few new amazing find that I just have to share with all of you.

Cedars Tzatziki Greek Strained Yogurt Dip - Flavors in Roasted Red Pepper and Garlic Cucumber
Need a healthy substitute for that fatty dip you make every Superbowl sunday? Look no further. The roasted red pepper tzatziki is amazing as a straight up dip with pita chips or tortillas. To be honest, I loved this dip so much that I would highly recommend eating it even on a bagel! It was so good. The garlic and cucumber flavor was delicious as well. I had it with pita chips and also tried it on grilled salmon. It was amazing with the salmon. For only 35 calories per serving, it 100% makes eating Omega-3's something to look forward too. Check where the hummus is located in your supermarket to pick some up. In fact, Cedar's is actually located in Massachusetts, right in the heart land of MTV reality casting central - Merrimack Valley! Here is a link as well.
*Shhh, wanna know a secret? Cedar's hummus does private labeling for Stop and Shop hummus! So if you love spinach and artichoke hummus and wanna save some $$, but store bought because it's same exact thing. But don't tell too many people, I was told to keep my mouth shut. I wonder how many other products are the exact same way? More on private labeling read this Chicago Tribune Article.
