Only days away from the 2010 Forrest Wood Cup kick off FLW Tour Pro reels in a record spotted bass

Looking ahead at Lake Lanier and the upcoming Forrest Wood Cup, FLW Tour Pro, Wesley Strader paused to pass time until pre-fish. Testing the waters of the Ocoee River, Strader struck a record.

Although it is not officially certified and the paperwork is pending, Strader reeled in new record for the state of Tennessee with the 6.43 lb spotted bass on the end of his line.

Stating he had “never come close to catching a state record before”, Strader said, “if I don’t catch a fish at the Forrest Wood Cup, it wouldn’t matter if I get this state record. I’m just really pumped up right now. This made my week.”

Strader joins his fellow Forrest Wood Qualifiers on the Lake at 6:30 am on August 5 for opening ceremonies.
