In an automobile accident a lot of force occurs that causes damage to the vehicle.  Those forces can also cause injury to the head, neck or back.  Unless there is immediate danger or a person needs CPR, all injured victims of an automobile accident should remain in their vehicle until emergency crews arrive.

Emergency crews; Firefighters, Paramedics and EMT's, go through countless hours of training to learn how to properly - and safely - remove victims from automobile accidents.  This training is more than just how to properly move someone to prevent further injury, there are right and wrong ways to open up the damaged vehicle.

Well-meaning bystanders can be injured, even seriously, by attempting to perform rescues that they are not trained to do.  These injuries can occur from broken glass, sharp metal and delayed airbag deployment.

Even in what may appear as a minor accident, anyone who is injured or appears to be injured should be safely treated by emergency crews.
