The citizens of Mobile in a time of emergency sometimes wonder why it took so long for help to show up at their home or somewhere on the street where they are involved in a wreck. The citizen's academy and the fire training staff at the training facility conduct this ten week course to answer questions, inform, educate, and train ordinary people and help them understand the workings of emergency services.
The fire department offers people this class to see what the Mobile Fire Department is all about. The training staff that teaches these classes will help build a bond between ordinary people and the fire department and how the department works during response times, at the station, and on the scene and in various emergency and non-emergency situations.
The academy is a free ten week course and will provide plenty of classroom and on hands training at the fire training facility located at 860 Owens Street. The Mobile Fire Department training staff will teach the Citizens Fire Academy course.
