Franklin Arts in Sioux Falls

"Party" by Franklin Arts

What is art? Were you ever asked that question in school? I remember being asked to define “freedom” in a college class, but I think “art” may be even harder to define. It is subjective and can vary based on perspective and experience. I like to think that art makes a person feel something. It may bring out memories, challenge your ideas, or evoke a sense of wonder. This local Sioux Falls artist is redefining for many people both the idea of what art is, as well as the way art is “done.”

Even at first glance at FranklinArts.com it is easy to see why Kyle Neuberger’s work with Franklin Arts is aptly described as “unlike anything seen before.” Starting with natural photographs combined with his ability to digitally manipulate the image, Neuberger's art takes on a certain wild, supernatural feel.
Like some of the best invention stories, Franklin Arts came about as an accident. Originally from Watertown and now living with his wife Meaghan in Sioux Falls, Kyle Neuberger talks about growing up feeling as though he was made for art class and art class was made for him. He started out with drawing and enjoyed painting canvases, but his desire for perfection and shoes free of paint speckles led him in other directions with his career.

"Solo" by Franklin Arts
Later on down the road, he began experimenting with his camera one day and realized he had captured very unique images. Excited by this new world of artistic possibilities, Neuberger went on a photo shooting spree, taking over 1,000 images in two days. Without hesitation, he ordered prints on canvas and knew he had discovered something special. From there Franklin Arts was born.
The name Franklin Arts comes from Neuberger’s middle name, Franklin. Last year he applied to five juried art shows and was honored to be accepted to all five. The first time he showed his art publicly, a woman’s immediate reaction was, “It’s unlike anything I’ve seen before.” Her comment became a perfect slogan for Franklin Arts.  Neuberger reflects, “To this day, I’m not sure if I’ve ever had a better compliment. Art is unique by nature, and for someone to describe my art in those words is something I will never forget.”
Most of Neuberger’s work can be described as abstract digital art, although he has recently demonstrated flair with natural landscape photography as well. He says, “The sky and earth are unbelievable canvases. It is quite different from the abstract art I create, but this seems to be just as fulfilling and perhaps even more difficult since the natural canvas of nature cannot be controlled.”

Customized mock-up of Franklin Arts in a client's home
Starting up an art business from scratch hasn’t always been easy, especially when it comes to putting large orders of canvas prints on a credit card and hoping to find people to buy them (“Yeah, my wife loved that idea,” he jokes), but Neuberger’s willingness to work with his clients is what makes Franklin Arts so unique.
Franklin Arts offers people unique personalization opportunities.  Clients are able to pick a design they like, adjust the colors and see a customized mock-up of what the art would look like in their space before even making a purchase. Click here for a before and after gallery of Franklin Arts mock-ups in clients' homes and offices.
Kyle Neuberger describes himself as “obsessed with creating this type of art.” It's unique, it’s a new field for art, and best of all it's engaging and customizable to a client’s individual needs. Neuberger also adds, “I can make it ‘perfect’ with digital manipulation, all while keeping my shoes perfectly clean.”
Besides FranklinArts.com and the customizable opportunities to preview Kyle Neuberger’s art in your own home, examples of Franklin Arts can also be seen right here in Sioux Falls at Hahn Dental Clinic where his wife Dr. Meaghan Neuberger is a dentist.
