Dusty 45s and Yeah, Yeah, Yeahs - Bumbershoot Sunday

Photo and Reviews by Katja Klopfer

DUSTY 45's, 1.30pm, Starbuck's Stage (Pictured above, yes he is standing on the bass)

This beloved, decade old Seattle rock and roll band always delights the crowds with their exciting, energy laden, creative fire and commited, fun, foot tapping performance.

As they launched into old faves such as 'Dream Girl' and  'Leave Me Alone' nobody in the audience minded the little drizzle and instead started moving their asses to the mixed roots style and honky-tonk rock and roll.

Insider tip, they are going to release their new album at the Tractor Tavern at a New Years Eve Party.

YEAH, YEAH, YEAHs, 2..30pm, Samsung Mobile Main Stage (pictured below)

A NYC based indie rock band that was formed in 2000 and immediately went straight up in the charts with their edgy,  punkie, trashy, hard core rock. Always an audience favorite with their pulsating, wild show to match the crazy wild lyrics, they easily outnumbered Sheryl Crow's audience from the eve before despite being an afternoon show with mixed weather forecast.

Front singer Karen O seemingly has unlimited energy as she jumped around the stage like a gummi ball, changing outfits in the process charging her audience into a frenzy of crowd surfing with songs like 'Run Away' and 'Tell Me'. No wonder they have been chosen to support such indie faves as the White Stripes and the Strokes.

VIVIAN GIRLS, 6pm KEXP Broad Street Stage

This underground all girl American rock band from Brooklyn, formed only in 2007 had a hard time singing their melodic, indie, folksy music against almost gale force winds.

Seriously, as I walked there tents flew off around me and the drizzle gave way to real rain. Still they persevered and so did the sizable audience.
