'Rather Unique' street and graffiti art at Lower East Side gallery

The Woodward Gallery on the Lower East Side is presenting a series of paintings in Rather Unique, an exhibition curated by Harlem-based street artist Royce Bannon. The participants are trendsetting street and graffiti artists. Although each artist has a completely unique approach to their work, hence the title, they share a commonality, and that is that each piece shows no limitations or constraints to creativity.

Bannon has selected these artists for this particular show due to their originality, determination, and dedication. “Each one of them has a rather unique style that I really can’t compare to any one else’s.  If I mention a Darkcloud, a Matt Siren, or a Cope2 you know exactly what I’m talking about- even if you’re not into the scene- you can see their (iconic) images in your head… Everyone does wheat paste, and stickers, or (tag) throw ups, but this group of artists…make what they do really pop,” he explains.
