"Two Nights in Oz" runs March 27 to 28.
Halloween may be seven months away, but things are going to get a whole lot more witchy around the Winchester Cultural Center (3130 S. McLeod Drive) at the end of March when the Winchester Players present back-to-back performances based on L. Frank Baum's classic book, The Wizard of Oz.
On Friday, March 27 and Saturday, March 28 at 7 p.m., the center's resident theater troupe spends "Two Nights in Oz," starting with the original play, "Witches," on Friday. Written by director Susan Swanson, "Witches" provides the back-story leading to Saturday night's performance of "The Wizard of Oz." Both shows, featuring actors ranging from 6 to 17 years old, are directed by Swanson and her brother Christopher, both of whom have years of combined experience from shows on Broadway and the Las Vegas Strip.
Tickets each night are $5 for adults, $3 for seniors and students, and can be purchased online at the Clark County Parks & Recreation website or at the Winchester front desk.
