Donaire Sr. - His older sister, when he didn't have work, he was staying with her and she was feeding him but now when he saw her recently during his fight, he didn't even bother say hi or ask her how she was doing. Nothing!

Donaire Sr. - As long as his wife and his wife's family are there, it's not likely to happen because he is so afraid of his wife's family. It's like when he sees them, he gets goosebumps or something. Publish everything I am saying. He is so afraid of that family.
dSource - What can you say to the fans right now. I'm sure there's people that will react to this especially that Jr.'s career is on the way up and there might also be those who will sympathize with you...
Donaire Sr. - It's up to them especially the Filipinos. They can just think about it and if the same thing happened to them...

NOTE: Prior to releasing this article, I contacted the Donaires to inform them that I will be running this piece. I have also asked them if they wanted to respond to this interview. I for one wanted to stay away from matters outside the sport itself, but I can't turn down a person who came to me as a man wanting to get things off his chest. Nonito Donare Sr. insisted that he wanted everything from our interview to be made public. Hopefully this interview can create a dialog between father and son that will ultimately squash this issue and for everyone involved to just get along.

Bro Dennis, this is a very explosive interview that will surely raise the eyebrows of the Filipino fans that Nonito Jr. is currently embracing. I, too, do hope that Sr. and Jr. will be able to find a way to patch things up. Personally, I believe that 'no degree of success can ever compensate for the failure at home.' No amount of belt or accolades can compare to the happiness of an intact and loving family. If what Sr. said are all true, Nonito should think a lot. He just can't go far with a psyhcological baggage on his shoulders. Without prejudice to Rachel, as a wife and an in-law, she shouln't make it hard for Jr. to get back and reunited to his family. I don't know, this is a family matter that goes out of control. Jr. should really think this a lot and I hope he will go towards the direction that he, himself, will be at peace and won't be regretful. For us fans, we just hope and pray that this family will be able to blessed and hold on despite this difficult test.
Oh My God!! This is one of those days that you will feel really bad! Specially if you are a Filipino fan. Two of Nonito Sr's top fighters lose and ko'd convincely, Morales and Sonsona. I really hope that they can fix these problems as this will surely affect the father and son relationship further.

Here in US, this is called a Sandwitch generation. For Nonito Donaire Jr. he is thorned between taking care of his immediate family's future (himself,his wife and maybe someday their future kids) and taking of his parents, brothers and sisters. Donaire Jr. is in a very tough situation. If your wife and your parents/brothers/sisters don't get along makes it even more harder.
Donaire Jr. needs to step up and be a man, explain it to his old man that he needs to take care of his own (himself and his wife) future first.
Donaire Jr. also needs to step up and tell his wife that he also still has responsibility to his side of the family. To take care of his parents/brothers/sisters in case of emergency or when they need him the most. With that said, I mentioned emergency situations only. It is not Donaire Jr. responsibility to take care of everybody in his side of the family.

Giving Gorres $3,500.00 which was published everywhere is a benevolent act, however, neglecting your family who are financially in need and who cared for you since day one is another thing. A wife can be replaced but not your family who raised and truly loved you from birth. Take the case of Pacquiao whose father left them when they were young but he still acknowledged and loved him unconditionally. That's how a forgiving son he is. Everybody appreciates such rare gesture he showed his father despite the fact that he abandoned them.

i'm pretty sure that there is a deeper side of the story. i' m not buying the story that jr will replace his dad as his trainer just because jr is afraid of his wife and her family or that is what his wife wants. it would be better if we can hear the side of jr. parang may malalim na pinaghuhugutan ang di pagkakaunawaan ng dalawa. but ofcourse, ultimately we all want both sides to forgive and make up. Nonito Jr, hindi ka magiging champion at wala ka sa mundong ito kungdi naghirap ang nanay mo dalhin ka sa sinapupunan nya for 9mos. hindi na mga bata ang magulang mo. Habang nandito pa sila sa mundo payong kaibigan show them your love at baka malaman mo na huli na pala ang lahat. magiging magulang ka rin.
