Roundup of this weekend's events

This weekend is another big one for fight fans, with MMA, middleweight championship boxing and more all on offer. Perhaps the most  interesting event will see Cung Le return to StrikeForce after taking a long hiatus to make movies. The famed San Shou practitioner also faces arguably his biggest test tonight in Scott Smith.

StrikeForce:Evolution

With a card stacked top to bottom, this should be one of the better MMA cards on offer this year. Jacare and King Mo also make their debuts with the promotion, and the aforementioned Le returns in what promises to be a stand up war.You can catch this card on Show time and several places online. Check out the full fight card and my predictions here:Predictions and analysis.

Pavlik vs. Espino

The recently inactive Middleweight champion Pavlik makes his return to the ring against Espino, a brawler who should play right into his hands. Staph infections and injuries to opponents kept Pavlik sidelined most of this year, but he hopes to have more success in 2010. Perhaps more pertinent he also wants to finally meet Paul Williams, although given the difficulties of their last proposed meetings, this will have to remain to be seen. Also on the card tonight from Youngstown is the heavyweight contender Samuel Peter, looking to get back on track toward a world title. The pay per view also features bouts from Mexico including Jesus Chavez vs. Humberto Soto, which should also be a great fight. This one is on pay per view only. Predictions and analysis.

WEC 45

Yet another stacked card from the WEC features the always exciting Donald Cerrone in the main event against Ed Ratcliffe. Also featured on the card are the likes of Scott Jorgensen, Chris Horodecki, Joseph Benavidez and Takeya Mizugaki. Even better than that, the card is free and available in almost every part of the country, making this the easiest pick if you don't feel like shelling out for either a pay per view or a show time subscription. Catch this one on versus.
