No fighter has ever challenged Manny Pacquiao like Floyd Mayweather Jr has. The ironic thing to all of this, is the fact that Floyd Mayweather Jr and Manny Pacquiao have never stepped foot in a ring to yet to fight each other.
Yet, no fight has captured the boxing world quite like the potential showdown between boxing's greatest offense and boxing's greatest defense. But, does all of the public attacks and mega-hype equate to Floyd becoming Manny's greatest rival? Let's examiner further.
Floyd Mayweather Jr
No fighter has ever been more critical of Manny Pacquiao than Floyd Jr. The public onslaught against Manny from all of the Mayweathers is unprecedented. It's been a public witch hunt based on false accusations by the Mayweathers. I believe it was Floyd Sr who initially stated that Manny was taking some kind of PED and the rest is history. Everyone from Uncle Roger to Oscar De La Hoya jumped on the express train to defamation city.
Even after the fight fell through, Floyd Jr and his family continued to attack Pacquiao through the media. Week after week, they said he's scared to take the tests; he's hiding something; he must be on something illegal. This public attack is enough to frustrate any human being. So, it's no surprise that all of this got to the humbled and mellow Manny. Freddie Roach once said that he's never seen Manny angrier than when it comes to Floyd Mayweather Jr and I can believe that.
Fast forward to the second round of negotiations and Manny starts making compromises but Floyd is not to be heard. Instead, Floyd is out bowling. Then Floyd says he wants a larger share of the fight purse; before he strolls back into his silent world. Floyd's mind games have been unparalleled in the course of Manny's career.
But does all of this equate to Floyd Mayweather Jr being Manny Pacquiao's greatest rival? In my opinion, I think Floyd Jr ranks 3rd behind the following two men.

Floyd Mayweather Jr. is a wannabe. 1st he assumed the identity of Zab Judah, where Floyd uses Zab Judah's slang. Next, Floyd copies Roger Mayweather's ring entrance by dressing in his opponents cultural trunks like the Mexican Sombrero and Mexican flag as boxing trunks. Finally, Mayweather Jr. changes his fighting style from defensive...to a Manny Pacquiao agressive style of boxing. There was already one Floyd Mayweather, and that was Floyd Senior...now as for Junior...he's just a wannabe.
The title of the article is already a dumb and obvious question. Than u go off and talk about defamation when there really wasn't any. How do clearly biased reporters get these kinds of jobs?

Floyd is not Manny's greatest rival. Not even close. Because they really have no history of battling each other. But what is clearly, Floyd has been a thorn on Manny's butttt. But Manny has been relatively none committal too any trashing talking towards Floyd because it is not in his character make up. Floyd is the one who is frustrated because all the love, accolades and awards are going towards Manny Pacquiao. I think Floyd is obsessed with Manny in some ways because he hadn't achieved this kind of crossover superstardom. And also, Manny is considered the darling of corporate America and even the world market. Manny has recieved various endorsements from companies outside of the United States. But in the United States,Manny has endorsements from McDonalds,Disney (new endorsement),and mega company Nike. Floyd doesn't have those major companies in his portfolio.And I am sure it kicks the balls of Floyd's ego. Floyd is his own worse enemy in a true sense. His ghetto ways is killing him.

as far as I remember, Manny was not scared with marquez, viz;
after the 1st fight with marquez, manny wants a rematch with him however, marquez instead face the indonesian with less than $50k purse and refuse mannys camp offer $700K. (that is why he was accused of ducking manny) the 2nd time around (I think more than 2 years of waiting before marquez gave manny a rematch), manny won the fight in split decission, can't accept the verdick, he (marquez) went as far as philippines and there humilated and unsportsmanlike actuasions showed by marquez in one giant tv station in phils. Maybe because of that marquez misbahavior, manny made a decision that marquez wont be able to fight him again (and taste a huge PPV share). I personally got mad with marquez that time, hes so ungentleman hes so sourgraping even to put manny at the very phils soil in public shame. they are suppose to be a professional fighter not a street one.
