Despite the alleged reports out of The Philippines of distractions and sideline head butting between Roach and Pacquiao adviser Michael Koncz, the camp seems to have survived, and is headed back to Los Angeles on October 24th. This is music to famed fight trainer Freddie Roach's ears, as he wants to get Pacquiao back to US soil in time for them to adjust to the time difference.
My sources are telling me that the sparring sessions between Manny and Jr middleweight prospect Shawn Porter have been extremely beneficial for Manny, so much that Porter will be brought back to Los Angeles to remain on with the team until they leave for Las Vegas.
Roach has said from the beginning that the biggest issue that he has with training in The Philippines is the major time difference. Knowing that Manny has agreed to fly back to Los Angeles on Oct 24th has Roach more at ease.
Being back in Los Angeles will have a different tone this time around with the absence of former heavyweight champion Michael Moorer. Roach will more than likely still have a clamp down on the gym, however the chemistry and the old feel of the gym will return making for a much better environment, This fight is getting closer, and the electricity of it all is beginning to rise.
Miguel Cotto has quietly been doing his thing in camp, working hard, and is very focused at the task at hand. He's going to need to have that kind of a camp, because he has never faced anyone that is as fast as Manny Pacquiao in his entire career. Fighting Pacquiao is a whole different monster than fighting anyone else.
So team Pacquiao will be arriving on October 24th to wrap up the last few weeks of camp, then off to Vegas for a real throw down war between two of the best fighters in the world.

Mayweather envies Pacquiao for his humble demeanor, respect towards peers, religiosity and in-and-out of the ring nice image which endear him to his fans worldwide. He feels threatened in his backyard whenever celebrities like Bill Clinton, Denzel Washington, the Celtics and other basketball greats, Batista and many more gravitate to him because of his skills and charisma. Pacquiao is the antithesis of Mayweather. Offense vs defense, advance vs retreat, humility vs conceit, decency vs shamelessness, fan-orientation vs money-orientation, risk-taker vs safety-first, etc. Very lately Floyd has been rather charming and goes to great lengths trying to be nice. This is welcome but be careful as you may get fooled. At the end of the road lies the real motive of the fraud man.
Maybe this is the strategy of team pacquiao to create chaos within their staff for them to change the odds in the US, remember cotto is the underdog of this fight . And they want to make it sure Firepower is the topic of all boxing sites.
