Come for the dancing, stay for the souvlaki! The Greek Festival is a staple among Festivals in Utah. Each year, more people flood to the downtown block of 3rd South & 3rd West to be a part of the action.
The event has been thriving and growing for decades, attracting all manner of folk from any number of places around the country.
The festivities are presented by the Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church & Hellenic Cultural center. Many of the proceeds from the event are returned to the community in the form of charitable donations. However, this is not your grandmother's church bazaar.
The festival is a dazzling feast for the senses. There are many Utahns who come just for the food. There's no shame in admitting that, since you'll not likely find a better selection of fresh, authentic, homemade Greek fare this side of the Atlantic.
The festival fare doesn't end there. Settle in to watch some traditional performances by talented and enthusiastic dancers. These people know how to put on a captivating show!
If you're worried about the extra calories from all those gyros and dolmades, you might want to sign up for the Greek Run. There's a 5K, a 10K, and even a kids' race with some impressive prizes. For instance, Morris Murdock Travel is giving away a cruise for two to the first place winners of both the 5 and 10K events. Plus, everyone who participates will be provided with a race tee-shirt, free admission to the festival, post-race refreshments, and a coupon for a free sandwich.
The festival has also been known to feature rides, games, and other fun family entertainment.
Come out and experience Greek hospitality and zest for life at this year's festival. Vibrance, excitement, and atmosphere like this is priceless. However, tickets are only three bucks. See you there!
