Bonnaroo 2010 comedy performers include O'Brien, Ansari, Cho

Conan O'Brien will perform and MC at Bonnaroo 2010

The Bonnaroo Music and Arts Festival has announced its lineup of comedy performers for 2010. This year’s lineup includes former Tonight Show host Conan O’Brien, Parks and Recreations star Aziz Ansari, author and comedian Margaret Cho, and insult comic Jeffrey Ross with a “Bonnaroo Roast”. Joining these comedy tent headliners will be comedians Greg Giraldo, Bo Burnham, Doug Benson, Nick Kroll, Paul Scheer, Rob Huebel, John Roberts, Baron Vaughn, and Chelsea Peretti.

The big surprise of this year’s Bonnaroo Comedy additions is Conan O’Brien, the recently deposed Tonight Show host who spent most of the winter in a very public feud with Jay Leno and NBC over the hosting duties of that show. O’Brien is lesser known as a stand up comedian than as a television host and writer, providing scripts for such popular shows as Saturday Night Live and The Simpsons. While Bonnaroo says O’Brien will be performing shows in the rather small comedy tent, he will also be playing Emcee to the What Stage on Friday and Saturday.

Aziz Ansari is considered one of the brightest up and coming stars on the comedy scene, thanks to well received comedy specials and appearances on Flight of the Conchords, Reno 911, and Worst Week. He has collaborated with fellow Bonnaroo performers Paul Scheer and Rob Huebel to produce Human Giant, a show which ran 2 seasons for MTV. Ansari today is most known for his portrayal of Tom Haverford on NBC’s Parks and Recreations.
