As I relentlessly make my way through the internet, checking parenting news headlines, mom and dad blogs all while leaving a trail of comments behind, I, on occasion, come across a noteworthy piece that reflects some very important ideals that I associate with fatherhood and parenting in general for that matter. This past Friday I came across such a post at the parenting/fatherhood blog website entitled Discovering Dad. Jeremy Neal, the author and creator of the blog, does a number of creative and worth reading series. From the series entitled Spotlight on Dads, where Neal interviews dads from across the net who blog about their experiences in fatherhood, to the more recent series entitled "What Moms Really Think," where Neal takes a "behind the scenes" look at the candid thoughts of some mom bloggers, Neal has begun to make a name for himself in the parenting blogging community. The last post in this latest series takes a look at what traits moms associate with good dads. I found this last installment in his series to be particularly important because, although the moms were all interviewed separately, the moms all came up with very similar answers to what they consider to be important traits in a good dad. So, take some time and get acquainted with what moms think make a good dad. Happy trails!

Thanks Joeprah! I had a lot of fun with the series, and I learned a ton! The final article in the series was the culmination of the week - it was awesome to end on a high note with moms from the panel describing what being a good dad meant to them. The readers comments for the entire series showed me that men and women want to talk about important issues affecting them both, which is very encouraging. Thanks again for reading and covering the series!
Jeremy, it was my pleasure! Keep up the good work!
The entire series was awesome.
Yo Joe,
Dang, you're everywhere man! Joeprah takes up a fair amount of space/time in my morning everyday, and that's a good thing I guess!
Reverse the question and I have an answer for a comment:
What Traits Do At Home Dads Associate with Good Moms?
Answer:
A good mom will ask the opinion of an At Home Dad and follow up, or at least try, the recommendations. I do not mean that we know everything but we have fresh ideas that should be asked and listened to.
I find this to hold true in the types of questions I am asked at the playground or our clubhouse. Sex and PMS questions are not asked, and I won't go there anyway.
Instead
1. What daycare do you recommend and why?
2. What do you look for when selecting a preschool and why?
These type of questions I am asked most about, along with learn to swim questions at the pool in the Summer.

Jason, thanks for dropping by!
MHD, I use smoke and mirrors but I am actually in one location during the day. Useful insight from the opposing point of view. Thanks!
