DC fashion designer Aidah debuts fall collection

Last night an eclectic crowd at Lounge One in Dupont was entertained by beautiful models, fashion and works of art.  As part of the Art Soiree series presented by Sandro and Tati, local fashion designer Aidah Fontenot showed her spring collection and debuted her fall collection.

Guests enjoyed drinks, inspired by Aidah, aptly named "Unique," "Confident" and "Sexy" while perusing through Aidah's fine art.  Besides the collection of large paintings, swag bags and a raffle drawing were all the rage while waiting to see the fashion presentation. 

Instead of a the normal pounding beats of the runway, the models walked through the crowds, lead by a trumpeter.  Once at various stations throughout the lounge, the models danced with the live jazz, thoroughly enchanting the onlookers.

The collection inlcuded handmade separates, dresses and jumpsuits, each in a giving fabric, with Aidah's signature hand painted details.  Mainly shades of blue, mint green and brown, highlighted with gold, the models showed the versatility and movement of the fabric.  Overall, the night was a beautiful and DC should be proud to call such a talented designer their own.  The Aidah Collection is available online at www.aidah.com.
