When you can get good advice, you should take it... when the advice comes from a great photographer like Alex Bussa, you should write it down on the blank pages in your bible.
That might be a bit extreme, but, if you don’t have a notepad, it might be your only option. If you do possess some other form of note taking device, it would behoove you to take any advice or good words you can from the talented and successful Phoenician photographer. ” The best advice I can give anyone aspiring to do anything is to practice. Never stop practicing, you're never done learning, you never know it all.” says Bussa who has not stopped practicing and most importantly, learning the art of photography for years and years. “...because knowing is half the battle!”
”... that and start networking; the most skilled and artistic people aren't always the ones that make the money. You could become an excellent photographer, but if you don't know anyone, you'll go nowhere; professionally speaking.” This is very true, especially in any entertainment, media, or design/art field/medium. George Lucas eventually transferred to the University of Southern California where he networked with such great film makers as his roommate Randal Kleiser, classmates Walter Murch, John Milius, and a man named Steven Spielberg.... network- don’t just be an anthropology student (even though anthropology is cool).
Summary: network. Meet everyone you can who you believe can in any way advance your photography career. Be nice, no one likes a jerk; don’t be a brown nose as no one likes that either. Shake hands, think before you speak, and, be yourself- as long as ‘yourself’ isn’t too annoying.
Result: work; success.
Good luck photographers.
