Thread | Bare Striptease Fashion Auction at The Lab

Thread | Bare striptease auction is probably the only runway event where the audience can shout "Take it off!" or "It's mine!" or hoot and encourage the models (celebrities).  This charity event at The Lab is certainly going to be entertaining as local celebrities strut down the runway in local designers' clothes that are all available for purchase right off the runway.  This is the fifth year The Lab will be hosting their annual Thread | Bare striptease auction and trunk show on Friday, June 11, 2010 at 7:00 PM.  If they're able to host this five years consecutively, you know they're doing something right.  At this event, local fashion designers will have their one-of-a-kind works auctioned right off models as they work the runway, thus the "striptease" of the evening.  All proceeds will go towards the nonprofit, The Lab, an interdisciplinary arts organization supporting the development and presentation of new visual, performing, media, sonic and literary art.  Founded in 1984, The Lab has earned a reputation as one of the foremost presenters of experimental art in the country, hosting approximately forty live events and ten to fifteen solo and group exhibitions per year.  Their work crosses boundaries, encouraging evolving artistic and social dialogue between artists and audiences and developing the culture and community of the San Francisco Bay Area.

Salon and stylist Cyrus Rhine.
