Shigoto Fashion Launch Fashion Show
To celebrate the launch of their Men’s and Women’s clothing collection, Shigoto Fashion hosted a fashion show on Wednesday, June 10, in one of Tribeca’s hottest Japanese restaurants – Ninja New York. The event housed a select number of media representatives and fashion experts who were amazed by both the remarkable couture and unusual surrounding.
Inspired by the ancient samurai warriors and modern-day construction workers of Japan, Shigoto Fashion’s debut line featured a remarkable collection of tobi pants, t-shirts, tabi shoes, and decorative wristbands. In addition, the samurai-styled models walked the runway to the beats of Japanese-inspired tunes offering the guests the most authentic experience in fashion. Attendees sipped on Ty-Ku Sake and tasted appetizers from Ninja Restaurant.
After the fashion show, various pieces from Shigoto Fashion’s line were put on display throughout the venue offering the guests the chance to see them up-close and feel the hand-woven fabrics.
Shigoto Fashion was created in Tokyo in April 2008 by Jasper Momma, former General Manager of Heineken Japan, and Mibu Minami, a renowned radio personality. Trying to blend both tradition and innovation, Shigoto Fashion created a wardrobe wildly different than anything ever seen before.
Momma and Minami hope to bring Japan’s history, as well as its unique, trend-worthy apparel to the rest of the world. Shigoto Fashion will continue to strive to stay true to this tradition but, at the same time, look boldly into the future.
