Fashion Week New Orleans (FW NOLA) will be hosting a casting call for runway models for its FW NOLA ‘12 event taking take place March 21-25, at the Sugar Mill in the Historic Warehouse District of New Orleans.
Inspired by Fashion Week NYC and the rich diverse culture of Louisiana; FW NOLA’s goal is to present a consumer driven showcase of prêt-à-porter fashions available at local retailers and boutiques, while also giving emerging, established, and renowned fashion designers a platform to display their collections in a series of runway shows, fashion events and exhibitions. And it is because the region is continually recognized globally for its authentic cuisine, music talent and spicy lifestyle that the organizers of the event feel it is only fitting that the unique talents of fashion designers, make-up artist, hair stylist, and models be included in this list of prestigious characteristics.
The event will feature over 35 incredible runway shows featuring retailers, boutiques, and designers from the Gulf Coast region. Returning to the runway this year are Saks Fifth Avenue, Hemline Boutique, House of Lounge and Designers Xiomara del Carmen, John Delgadillo, and FW NOLA '11 Top Design Winner Alicia Zenobia. Joining the line-up for 2012 will be Dillard's Department Store, Chatta Box, Vernon's Clothing, and Designers Raoul Blanco, Lawren Michele, and Diana Orr, of Dolce Cabo Los Angeles.
Sponsors for FW NOLA include Paretti Jaguar, Saks Fifth Avenue, Dillards, The Shops at Canal Place, Hemline, Vanguard/Paul Mitchell Cosmetology School, Twist Lounge and Ciroc.
FW NOLA will be seeking both male and female models; age 16 and older, as well as full-figured models for its spring 2012 show and invite everyone to attend. Both experienced and novice models are encouraged to audition, however height requirement for females is 5’7 and taller; and male should be a minimum of 5’11. Those planning to attend the casting are asked to dress to impress in chic casual attire. Experienced models should bring a portfolio and resume, and those with no experience are required to bring 2-4 current snapshot photos. The model casting will be held In Sunday, January 29, 2012 from 1-5PM at Cathedral Creative Studio, 527 Julia St., New Orleans, LA.
