To celebrate the Fourth of July this year, Old Navy has teamed up with Operation: Care and Comfort to support the deployed troops. Since April of 2003, the all-volunteer Operation: Care and Comfort program has shipped nearly 250 tons of care packages for distribution to Marine, Army, Air Force, and Coast Guard personnel deployed in conflict regions. Adopted military units receive care packages monthly, until they return home. Operation: Care and Comfort is a member of the Department of Defense “America Supports You” program, and has received national awards and recognition for its work on behalf of the military.
Old Navy stores across the country are running several promotions to support our troops. The events are as follows:
-All Old Navy stores across America will be hosting donation drives to collect the items needed by men and women in the armed services serving in Iraq and Afghanistan. They will be accepting underwear, undershirts, t-shirts, socks, sunglasses, lip balm, foot powder, and flip flops, to distribute to the troops. An under $10 troop essentials section will be available in the front of every store in hopes to encourage customers to purchase and donate.
-The "Buy One, Send One" offer allows customers who purchase an Old Navy flag t-shirt between July 1 and July 5 to also send a t-shirt to troops overseas via Old Navy.
-Customers who participate by making a donation during the collection will receive a 10% discount off their entire purchase in-store that day.
-Old Navy offers 10% off to all service men and women when they shop in any Old Navy store from the 1st to 4th of every month.
