With so many Etsy shops begging for your attention, it's almost impossible to weed out the good from the bad and the (disturbingly) ugly.  This especially holds true for jewelry, which is one of the most competitive categories in the online marketplace.  Everyone seems to think that they are the next Alex + Chloe so actually finding a bauble boutique worthy of "hearting" can be a frustrating task.  However, when it happens, it's a joyous event.

Specializing in custom exotic leather goods and accessories, UNEARTHED's pieces are a rare find on Etsy:  a combination of exquisite craftmanship and fashion-forward style without a whiff of the site's scrapbook-and-glue gun reputation.   Designed by LA-based sister-sister team Karen and Gina, describing UNEARTHED's materials as "exotic" is a bit of an understatement; bangles, buckles and compacts are available in rainbow shades of lizard, ostrich and stingray (who knew that there were metallic pink reptiles roaming the desert?).   Chain belts cleverly mix textures and colors while gold snakeskin business card cases are so divine they may actually manifest more business into your life. The "Special Edition" cuffs take the designs one step further by throwing chains and Swarovski crystals into the mix.  Most pieces are under $150, with the most popular items averaging in the $50-60 range so this is affordable luxury at its edgiest.

"We work so hard on the shop and it's so many hours of nonsense and endless broken nails!" jokes  UNEARTH's Karen.  Spoken like a true craftswoman.
