Cory Ceizler and Andrea Riendl, the original founders, of the website The Weather Stylist and The Weather Stylist iPhone application, are two young women with unique styles and globe-trotting experience.
These fashionistas are the brains and style behind The Weather Stylist, which is upstaging weathermen by the minute due to the fierce combination of forecasts and fashion.
Riendl states that women today, especially in this economy, are looking for affordable clothing options without sacrificing being fashionable. Ceizler thinks that most women want to be comfortable, but look amazing.
In a nutshell, tell the readers what The Weather Stylist is and why it was created?
CC & AR: The Weather Stylist is the perfect tool for girls to use when they need to pack for an upcoming trip, plan their outfits for the work week, or plan their looks for the upcoming weekend.
The Weather Stylist picks the ideal outfit (s) based on the current weather conditions for over 25,000 cities in the USA, Canada, and Puerto Rico, as well as 500 international cities.
All a woman has to do is enter a zip code to get current weather conditions and forecasts for that location and to generate complete outfit options for that day and the next seven days.
If the user does not like the first outfit option, she can simply click to the next look. All of the options will fit the weather conditions in that specific area and the price and purchasing information is available for each featured item.
Even if a woman never buys, it is most likely that she will have similar items in her closet to wear.
Current conditions data includes key features such as sky icons, temperature, feels like temperature, relative humidity, wind speed, precipitation, recorded high/low today, and recorded high/low yesterday.
How is the clothing chosen?
CC & AR: We try to choose clothes that will be a good fit for a variety of women, and we put together outfits that are flattering to most body types.
Our goal is to stay on top of the latest trends but also make sure that the clothing choices are practical, affordable, and versatile pieces that can transition from day to night.
How many outfit choices or pieces of clothing does The Weather Stylist have total?
CC & AR: A Lot! Our database is constantly changing because we are continuing to add more and more pieces of clothing every day. We make pieces “inactive” depending on the season or style.
As a team, we are always looking for new brands to send us clothing images that we can feature on the website.
How often will the website be updated due to trends and fashions going in and out of style?
CC & AR: We update the website daily. In fashion, one day it’s in and the next it’s out!
How does the website and iPhone application differ?
CC & AR: The Weather Stylist website is meant to be more of a one-stop-shop, offering information beyond weather and outfit ideas. The readers can not only get weather information and outfit ideas, but also news updates, travel information, and updates on the latest designer sales.
The iPhone application is a quick and easy way to just get weather information and outfit ideas.
Will you ever create a Weather Stylist for men?
CC & AR: When we first started this project, we thought it would be great to incorporate men’s clothing options, and we still do. But, we really wanted to keep focused and put 110% effort into women’s fashion.
We definitely have ideas for The Weather Stylist for men, and we see it happening in the future.
Who are your style icons?
CC: My grandma, Angela. She does not own a pair of flat shoes and even wears heels on sailboats.
AR: One of my style icons is Heidi Klum. Klum is impressively elegant on the red carpet, but she is also beautiful when she is casual.
