Unique opportunity for Target shoppers to own a piece of New York City when billboards are upcycled into Anna Sui bags.

Today, Target unveiled larger than life commissioned works from emerging artists, as billboards in Times Square. The billboards will remain on display until the end of October and then they will begin a new life.  The vinyl will then be restyled into 1,600 limited-edition affordable tote bags, based on a design conceived exclusively for Target, by fashion icon Anna Sui.

The unique billboard bags are available now for $29.99 from Target, while supplies last.  They will be shipped to customers in January 2010.  Concepted in city-savvy, sturdy nylon, with detailing like enamel studs, the to-be-customized totes are destined to a fashionista must-have, at a wallet-friendly price.  Customers get to choose which design they would like their bag fashioned from.

Four New York-based artists, Laurie Rosenwald, Michael Anderson, Josh Goldstein, and Charles Wilken, were chosen to create original pieces inspired by both New York City and the iconic Target Bullseye.  Each piece captures the enthusiam and vibrancy of both.
