A few months ago, a group of Miami online marketing professionals quietly launched what looks to be "the next best thing" in social networking--SHOEGAZR. Shoegazr is the web's first shoes-focused "social shopping" website and community. It allows shoppers to bookmark and rate shoes online.
Whether the interest is expressing one’s style, posting something novel, or a simply sharing a great deal, Shoegazr’s emphasis is on enabling its users to broadcast their discoveries. Users can follow the most stylish users to keep up with fashion trends and develop their own sense of style.
I spoke to one of the co-founders this afternoon and here's what Steve said-- "We don't have a target demographic. We welcome everyone from sneakerheads to stilletto addicts. It's exciting to see how quickly the site is growing."
After signing up (it's FREE) and creating my username and profile (ExaminerJewel), I was quite impressed with how easy to use the site is. And being a self-proclaimed shoe addict, I was also amazed at how many users have already signed up and the number of shoes listed. I could spend hours on this site.
Future plans include giving users the ability to create and join groups and forums. This is a local company, based on Brickell and I expect big things from them.
