Donna Karan launches iPhone application

Fashion icon, Donna Karan, has proved, yet again, that she is on the cutting edge of fashion.  To date, only a handful of designers have delved in the world of mobile sites and applications  Yet, none of the existing sites have the individual voice and conversational allure that Karan offers.

The Donna Karan iPhone app is truly unique, from both a brand and sales perspective.  This will be the first site to feature an in-depth fashion video, called "System of Dressing," where Donna herself will discuss the strategy and how-tos of maximizing the flexibility of clothes.  Further, the app will be the first to invite the consumer to create a wishlist of items, with the option to foward to a personal shopper.

The section called Donna's Journal will have new content added weekly, including people who have inspired her and personal travel photos.

Since the inception of her company in 1985, Donna Karan has always enjoyed a strong, personal connection with consumers.  This iPhone application is a natural progression in her desire to keep the dialogue going.

The app was designed in partnership with Atimi software, and launched earlier this month, to coincide with the debut of the Donna Karan Fall 2009 collection.
