LIONS
The most disheartening aspect of the Lions' loss to the Vikings on Sunday was that the team seemed to give up on Kevin Smith. His 12-to-6 advantage in carries over Maurice Morris is disheartening. With the Lions falling behind in most games and thus rushing less than most teams, losing one-third of the carries to the backup cannot be a good thing. Smith must be benched immediately.
VIKINGS
It's the second half of the season, and we all remember what happened last year. Brett Favre finally showed his age. There are those who expect it to happen again this year, but I'm not one of them. Sure, Favre is a year older, but his supporting cast is worlds better than last year's. He has developed three dependable wideouts and a touchdown-catching tight end, so his options are numerous. He's not an every-week starter, but you could do a whole lot worse if your alternative isn't a sure thing.
