Fathers 4 Justice President Donald Tenn announces the parents' civil rights group is ramping up their "No Jail For Being A Dad" campaign. See Fathers 4 Justice announce support of CT father on hunger strike. "I left Ohio after my OSU crane protest trial and traveled to Indiana to visit with Fathers 4 Justice member Amir Sanjari," he said.
Sanjari has refused to eat since he was arrested for child support arrears he says he does not owe, other than having an occasional nutritional drink to keep his brain healthy. See Amir Sanjari has refused food for two weeks and Jailed father refuses solid food, 122 days and counting for background information.
I was surprised by how much Amir's physical appearance has changed in the few short months since our last visit in California. Amir appears to have aged many years in this time frame. He looked fragile, and did not even recognize me at first.
Tenn immediately asked Sanjari about his health. "He said he has not been very well, in fact, not well at all. Amir has been suffering from several ailments while incarcerated, the most frequent may have been H1N1." He explained how this affected Sanjari's trial.
Apparently on Wednesday, the 11th of November, Amir was housed with someone with H1N1. Amir became quite ill. By Friday the 13th he had a temperature of 103.7. On Sunday at 9:00 pm Amir's temperature was down to 102.3. His trial was scheduled for the next morning. By 5:00 am his temperature was down to 98, but he had become very weak and was unable to walk to court.
Amir's description of events differ from those reported in the Elkhart eTruth, according to Tenn. It states that Sanjari refused to attend his trial. Sanjari told Tenn the Sheriff offered him a wheelchair and that he told him he needed a stretcher. Tenn says the Sheriff walked away telling Sanjari that he was in violation of a court order for not attending his trial. He says Sanjari repeated to the Sheriff that he needed a stretcher, but was ignored. The trial went on without Sanjari's presence.
As I understand it, the judge called in the head nurse and she stated that Amir was capable of attending the trial; that he was just refusing. Amir stated to me that the nurse was certainly lying.
Sanjari, a British citizen and former nuclear physicist who says his case is impaced by corruption, was found guilty by a jury of four felony counts for failing to support his two children. He was charged with two felony C charges for owing child support in excess of $15k for 2 children, and also two felony D charges for owing less than $15k. Sanjari's sentencing is scheduled for Dec.7 where he will face 10 years in prison.
Tenn is asking Fathers 4 Justice members and all civil rights supporters to write to Sanjari, and other parents who are wrongly incarcerated for false allegations resulting in restraining orders or false child support arrears. He says the No Jail For Being A Dad campaign is currently supporting the following fathers.

You don't have any right to endanger another's life, even if it's your own child. You may think you've been wronged, but if you were found guilty, suffer the consequences. Enough said.
claudine (you can stop with the fake screen names), if you're going to say things like "endangering children" you should back it up with proof. rumors and innuendo have no place in family law matters.
Claudine (Joe) you may want to stop with the fake screen names, the truth be told that the Family Court system is screwed up, and 90% of the false allegations made by women are unfounded. Not a single bruise, not a single scratch, but these wicked women evict a man from his home, steal everything he owns, and even use the court system to alienate the children, and then expect a man to pay unrealistic child support payments and make the man nothing more than a "paycheck". Give sole custody to the fathers, and hit the women with 70%-80% of their net income in child support payments, and start tossing these women in prison for "arrears". That would be true justice in America.
This man that you are supporting is in jail for molestation of his step daughter... He deserves to be there in Jail. How can you condone this kid of behavior from a man like this???

Landed himself back in jail. Not shocked as his behavior has been reprehensible. I'm also not sure why you were supporting a "man" who chose not to get a job for years to avoid paying child support, he is more than $18,000 in arrears which was why he was put in jail. He had no excuses other than laziness. I believe there are some fathers out there who are worth defending, Fathers4Justice: research the ones you are willing to support (maybe do a background check?). Like the commenter above me mentioned about Sean Bagato. If you want to be taken seriously as an organization then a little research would reflect much more kindly.
