Jury selection continued today for the two daddy activists who hung banners on a 175' construction crane at Ohio State University last year to draw attention to civil rights violations within family court. One banner read "Stop the war on fatherhood" and the other "Fathers 4 Justice."
As Donald Tenn explained in 18 mos prison possible for CA dad his daughter Madison was illegally moved from California to Illinois by her mother. His wife filed a false restraining order claiming fear of him, he says, when she learned the law wouldn't support her unilateral decision.
When unmarried dad Paul Fisher was prohibited from being an equal parent to daughter Demetra he took his case to the Ohio Supreme Court, and won. But the local family court judge circumvented the win, claiming a change in circumstances to deny Fisher equal parenting of his daughter. He now sees Demetra just four days a month.
Donald Tenn says he has traveled the country talking to parents in child custody cases, as well as getting non-stop calls and emails from distraught parents. "I've got my hand on the pulse of what goes on in every family court in the nation," he said, "I didn't ask for this. I never asked for thousands of emails every month from grieving parents, or phone calls at all hours of the day and night from parents on the verge of suicide. But this is my reality. I have to do whatever I can to solve this national crisis."
When asked why he doesn't file in IL family court as some have suggested, Tenn says CA would lose jurisdiction. "I know exactly what would happen," he says, "I'd be ordered to take psychological testing. It could easily take a year, 18 months or 2 years to see my little girl. And I'd be given supervised visitation, if I got any at all. Yet I never did anything wrong." He says he knows now that he needs to file in Federal court, and that he's been preparing for that by finding similar case law.
"My wife was able to get a restraining order when there was no abuse. Even after the CA family court judge scolded her for lying and denied her request for an extension, Moultrie County State's Attorney Marvin Hansen refused to enforce my visitation order," Tenn says, "The order is legal, not illegal as he claims." "Hansen didn't believe me and said I had to bring him a certified copy of my visitation order, and I did that. But instead of assisting me after he received it, he ordered deputies not to help me," he said, "That gave my wife time to get an invalid divorce in IL." Hansen says the divorce has Tenn's visitation on hold and he's enforcing that order.
"Family court judges have no oversight. It doesn't matter how good of a parent you are; it boils down to who the judge likes the most. Evidence is virtually irrelevant," says Fisher, "It is sick; it is like trying to win a popularity contest in high school." Fisher has an amicable relationship with Demetra's mother now, he says. Asked about future protests he replied, "If our issues are to ever gain national recognition, these types of high-profile actions must continue." Tenn says that is definitely going to happen, "Protests are going to continue across the country."

U should check out William "Wilky" Fain. Google him. Tell him Whitney Bell said hello. He was an unwed father who had to fight for the right to see his daughter after her mother refused to put his name on the birth certificate. There's more to the story and an indie film about it. Parents have to move to different states sometimes, though. I don't see how a father can prevent an ex-wife from leaving a state. You have to go where the jobs are. Lying about abuse is wrong, of course, though.
Indeed stop the dirty war by government&mothers against fathers&children, against durable hetero-relations and, against family-life especially of fathers&children, nobody has the right to withdraw a child of her/his father and his homelife, also single mothers will never be normal. Read Taken Into Custody by Stephen Baskerville who has also written many excellent articles like "divorced from reality", "molested by the state" and, "married with the state".
Donald Tenn is right in his quote of what would happen in Illinois. We've seen several cases where exactly that has happened. One guy near Chicago has only two hours a week of supervised visitation. Just two hours!
Curious though, I'm interested in seeing how this case plays out because from looking at all the videos, they climbed a crane and hung signs. But yet they're being charged with vandalism? I don't recall them spray painting the the crane, or tearing it down, or anything like that? What did they do? Leave foot prints?
Well, I'm pretty curious, I figure if they are found guilty that there will be a tremendous uproar about that. Good luck Paul and Donald.
JUSTICE IS COMING
Paul Fisher and Donald Tenn are truly heroes fighting for equality in America. All Americans must applaud and support their efforts as they work for a better America. People with this kind of resolve and strength of character are too few and too far between. They deserve an army of support. This army should include every Judge and Law maker. After all, these men are fighting for justice and equality for parents and most of all they are fighting for the children who need both parents and aren't given a voice. GO SPIDERMAN, GO SUPERMAN, and the rest of you, go with them. Sincerely, Fred Sottile
Divorceddadnetherlands,
As a long time single mom I have to disagree that we aren't normal.

You can keep deleting the truth teri but it will always come back to haunt you! Why did he lose his liscense? DUI? Tell the truth!
Teri wrote: I was on the phone with Donald when he was pulled over for driving without a license about 1 am Monday morning. He had been on his way to the trial in Ohio. He had a warrant for a previous driving without a license incident and was arrested. He was stopped near Hwy 24 and Rt 2 and taken to the jail in Watseka, Illinois. He has the $114 for bond but he's concerned about the cost of getting his car out of impound.
He just called back. They found an old beer bottle in his car and are trying to say he was driving drunk. He was not drinking so I suggested that he insist on an alcohol test.
Familycourtreform4moms,
Your name tells all, doesn't it? I happen to believe in truth and justice for both genders, not just one. When we pick sides we tend to become biased.
The bottle in Tenn's car is a non-issue. He recycles. An old, dried out beer bottle was found in his car when he was pulled over on his way to Ohio. The officer charged him with "illegal transportation of alcohol" which he will obviously get dropped.
How do I know he wasn't driving drunk? Because I have known Donald for several years. He's very careful not to do anything that would harm his chances of protecting his daughter.
Donald has slept in his car many nights while traveling the country helping other parents. Even on the slight chance he did drink it while in the car, I know it would have been after he pulled over to sleep for the night. He wasn't even aware the bottle was in his car; that's how long ago it was.
He lost his license for refusing to pay his daughter's abductor chil
This sounds like a case of a mother protecting her child. I'm sorry if that offends you. Your friend's story sounds very dubious and your history shows poor judgement in men. Your friend got an ex parte hearing in California. Typical move of abusive men. Hopefully the Il courts will protect mother and child.
Of course, you're right. You, in all your one-sided wisdom, having never met either of them, know better than two family court judges who have.
Teri, you can't have it both ways. On the one hand you and your ilk say family courts and judges are corrupt and trying to remove fathers from their children's lives. You then turn around and say two judges who agree with your friend (the dad) are absolutely right, see through moms lies and justice should be served. However, it appears that the judges in Illinois don't agree with dad and are taking mom's side in protecting the child. So they are corrupt right? Have they not met the father? Maybe they see something the others didn't? Your friend has got to deal with this matter in Illinois now. They have jurisdiction. Its clear he wants the case sent back to California because he believes the judges there will side with him. Thats not going to happen. If your friend has nothing to hide then deal with the Illinois courts. The child has resided there a long time now and it not good to disrupt her further by moving everyone back to Cali.
There is too much money involved when the attorneys are the ones who violate the 7th Judicial cannon and give to Judicial campaigns and many of the attorneys are friends with the judges and some people never get an impartial hearing. For the courts to take away these people's constitutional rights to protest is absolutely wrong. Unfortunately, when people are seeking a fair trial and justice, they are beat up by the courts and suffer from LEGAL ABUSE SYNDROME and suffer Post Traumatic Stress Disorder. If you look at the suicide rate of parents going through the family courts, that is telling as it is. I used to believe in the courts doing the right thing until I looked into the campaign finances of Judge Dan O'Brien in Oakland County Michigan & realized that an attorney gave him 1% of his total campaign contributions and many women were screwed over by this incompetent Judge. Judge dan O'Brien was never removed from the bench eventhough he had an extremely high number of complaint
When people lie about domestic violence, that is wrong. These people have made it so other people cannot get Personal Protection Orders that need them.
I have called the papers for years and the reporters have told me and many other people that everyone knows that the Michigan courts are screwed up. We were told that "No matter how many times the reporters reported, that nothing was ever done." The reporters got tired of the politicians, the courts, the judicial tenure commission, the attorney grievance commission, the attorney general's office and other people not doing anything to improve the courts. People are brought up with the idea that there is a balance of power and that there is a system to help people out. Until you have to deal with the courts, the cops, and the system, you do not have any idea how bad it is. My experience has been that many people are dealing with the other party have a personality disorder and that these people are able to manipulate the system that is supposed to protect so well. I would recommend LOVEFRAUD.COM for more information.
Many government workers could not even pass the licensing requirements to be counselors, but yet are employed as family counselors in the court system. They are rarely if ever fired for their incompetence. It is my understanding that these Family Court Counselors are in the group of government employees who are immune from being taken to court.
It takes a dead body before deputies, prosecutors, and attorney generals prosecute. Even then, I wouldn't count on it. Jessica Cooper is the Prosecutor in Oakland County and is refusing to prosecute people involved with the death of an elderly woman.
Familycourtreform4moms, you can twist my words all you want. It does not change the FACTS. You are biased, not me.
Only one judge agreed with the mother, and that judge never met nor heard from Tenn. Tenn wasn't even notified that a divorce was in the works.
And note, if you continue to insult me, my character or my judgment of others, all of your posts will be deleted.
Teri where did I twist your words? I am biased against no one. I deal with the facts and truth. In your friends case its hard to know who is telling the truth. I don't know your friend or his ex wife. What I do know is they both have very different stories. One claims abuse the other denies it. That tells me one thing, someone is not being honest. Judges in California (after hearing one side, dads, in an ex parte hearing)appear to side with the dad while the judge in Illinois seems to side with the mother. The courts in Illinois have the jurisdiction over this case now and it doesn't look like your friend is going to be able to change that. He has to deal with what is now not what shoulda, coulda, woulda, happened in California. It seems he is stuck on getting everything back to California. Thats not likely to happen so move forward and deal with the present situation in Illinois. Maybe the judge there will help him see his daughter. Thats his goal right? To see his daughter?
Phillips never claimed abuse. She claimed fear. Yet she's on video tape asking to go with Tenn on his visit with their daughter.
Phillips claimed fear only after learning that she was not supposed to move the child away against the other parent's wishes. It was a tactical move to win custody since he wouldn't follow her to IL, nothing more.
One judge commented on how nervous she looked, mentioning her fidgeting, that she looked like she was lying. She was.
You know what she said to Tenn when he finally got to see his daughter after 15 months? She said, "Where have you been? You should have been here to see her sooner."
Please note: Phillips is the one hiding. Both had the opportunity to appear on Dr Phil's TV show. Tenn is anxious to tell his story. Phillips refused. Why? Because she's the one in the wrong.
She was probably afraid to let the child go alone. Have you viewed this tape? Has he show it to the judge in Illinois?
Were they divorced when she moved? Was there a custody/visitation order in place at the time of the move?
On being nervous and fidgeting in court this is exactely how victims of abuse act. Many judges are not educated on abuse and how it affects victims.
Have you ever spoken to Phillips? Do you know her personally or ever met her? How do you know what her motives are? Was she contacted by the Dr Phil show? Maybe she just doesn't want to go public about this to spare the child. Has Mr Tenn reported any of this to CPS? I still think his best bet is to deal with this in Illinois courts regardless of what he has to go through. After all he risked his life and liberty on a crane. 18 months is nothing compared to years of litigation in federal court. His daughter will be grown up by then!
Courtreform4moms, I have to ask you this now. Why do you have such a hard time believing that this woman lied? You keep using possible theories to make excuses for her, while ignoring physical evidence to the contrary. This has to stop at some point, don't you think?
I've gotten proof every time I've asked for it. I have no doubt that I'll get proof for the rest of what I want to report. I only report what I know is true.
Phillips is on video tape saying she wants to go on TV to tell her side, so those excuses won't work for you.
They were together for years. The police were never called to their home for domestic violence or disturbing the peace. Neighbors support Tenn. They never saw conflict. There are no witnesses anywhere who can verify her claim that she has reason to fear him.
Maybe you just can't accept the truth here because then you'd have to reconsider the stories of all the other mothers you decided to blindly believe. Please do it, for the childre
Because the things you are saying just don't add up. Didn't Mr Tenn say she refused to go on the Dr Phil show but now you say she is on video tape saying she wants to go on the show?
Saying no police records of being called to the home or neighbors not noticing anything proves nothing to me. That happens all the time. Look at all the women raped and killed recently and the neighbors didn't notice anything until the stench of dead bodies made that impossible. Don't you think a man raping and killing all those victims someone would have noticed something? You say I am biased yet you seem very biased against victims of domestic violence. Domestic violence happens to both males and females, young and old. It is not gender neutral. Its does not discriminate by age, race or economic background. It takes place in secret, behind closed doors. Very difficult for the untrained to know who or what to believe. The children are always the innocent victims.
Enough is enough. Just stop. Now you're talking about rapists and murders.
It seems you're so biased you can't reason. Of course for you it doesn't add up; that's what you want. She was caught on tape saying that before she refused to go on TV, twice.
I told you that I won't put up with you trashing my character. I have never discriminated against victims of domestic violence. I have friends of both genders who are victims. I am on an international coalition on domestic violence. Get it right or ask. Stop the insults.
To clear the air, I want to repeat that I advocate for both genders in cases of family rights violations, and have been since 2005. www.associatedcontent.com/article/46613/its_not_your_mothers_fathers_movement.html?cat=25
Fresh pitcher of kool aid for table 1
Claudine, I can imagine how frustrating it must be to lose custody of a child to someone you allege abused you for 14 years. Of course, some wonder why an abuse victim wouldn't leave after the very first strike, not 14 years later. In this day and age women are not trapped in relationships financially.
Aside from that aspect of your credibility, it is interesting to note that you have been diagnosed with Borderline Personality Disorder. This might explain why you seem to spend every moment creating websites where you write libelous things about parents civil rights advocates.
Does this also explain why you edited my comment on your blog to say something completely different than what I wrote? You describe your sites as satire. Claudine, hate is not satire.
I suggest that you get counseling to deal with the trauma that you've experienced. Holding on to the anger has turned you into a very hateful person. This can not be good for you, as a human being, or as a mother.
We are doing a story on Donald Tenn, he is now on a tower in California. Do you know how we can reach him?
