For the 10th year the Honda Battle of the Bands (http://www.hondabattleofthebands.com/thebands.php) is Saturday (28 Jan 12) at the Georgia Dome. It starts at 3pm and tickets are $14.30 or 17.35 through Ticketmaster (http://www.ticketmaster.com/event/0E0047108FB74981) or $10 at the Georgia Dome (http://www.gadome.com/events_ticketing/events/all/1201029.aspx). If you plan to buy tickets at the Georgia Dome arrive early the doors open at 1:30pm. It is advisable to take the Marta train instead of driving (http://itsmarta.com/schedules-maps.aspx).
Eight bands will compete for the annual $200,000 grant. The final eight bands are the finalist from 41 participating Historically Black College and University marching bands. Each of the bands participated in the Bands Celebration Tour presented by Verizon from September to November. In addition, Monica is the guest performer for this event at the Georgia Dome.
By all accounts, this event promises to be great entertainment for the family. The price is great for a family outing.
