The San Joaquin Film Society is hosting it's 3rd San Joaquin International Film Festival February 19-27, 2010. This year's festival promises to have films that the entire family can enjoy. The majority of the festival takes place in Stockton with the final two days commencing in Modesto.

Opening night will showcase the animated feature film The Secret of Kells. Festival organizers attest that this is a movie that even the youngest in the family can watch and enjoy. It is definitely one that you don't want to miss. It has been nominated for a 2010 Academy Award in the Best Animated Feature category. The only showing of this movie will be at 7:00pm on Friday, February 19th at The Stockton Empire Theater. Tickets can be purchased in advance from the festival website or at The Empire Theater box office.

The festival is showing several other documentaries and feature films as well as some short film collections. Two notable ones are Dancing Across Borders and an encore showing of Cherry Blossoms (PG13), the 2009 San Joaquin Film Festival Best Picture winner. The festival is also having a benefit showing of the documentary They Came to Play. Proceeds will benefit The Stockton Symphony.

If you are a family that loves movies make sure not to miss this festival. You are sure to be delighted by the array of films by both budding talents and established artists.
