May 21, 2010 - Nine Seattle families are suing Proctor and Gamble because their babies suffered severe rashes, burns, and oozing blisters after using Pampers Dry max, the new thinner diaper.
Pictures taken of the babies were so bad that they are hard to look at.
Have you had problems with using the Pampers Dry Max diapers? If so, and if you'd like to share your story, you can email me at isabelle.zehnder@comcast.net.

Many parents across the U.S. have joined the Facebook page, “Recall Pampers Dry Max Diapers”. Here’s what they’re saying:
C.M. said, “I avoided these diapers but loved pampers, so I bought the kind I usually do, and she got a horrible rash! I didn't realize the dry max was going into all pampers!!! I am so angry!”
S. B. said, “Well, today my mom suggested that I put one of the Pampers Baby Dry diapers back on my son, since I had him all cleared up for over a week. At 1:20pm today I put one on him. By 5:20pm the rash was back. That is with 3 changes in between. So, the Huggies are back on and using Hydrocortisone Cream to clear it up. Now, if Pampers wants to tell me there is nothing wrong with the diapers, I DEFINITELY know different. This is getting out of hand. These babies should not have to go through this. I am emailing the lady that has been sending me emails to let her know about my test. Hope everyone’s children are doing well.”
K.M. suggests complaining to stores where the diapers are sold. She said, “My son was crying, so we thought he was just tired. We changed his diaper, and he looked like someone had poured hot water on him. Talk to two other moms who had the same experience today. Nothing was similar but this new pampers, dry max. I never bought before. Why is there no recall. Was told by one mom that pampers knows about it. 24 hours later his rash is still there, but slowly going away as soon as we put him in the huggies we had.”
“We need to also complain to the store that we bought from. If the stores get enough complains they will act. I have seen it happen as my husband works for a company that handles recalls.”
M.T. said, “I put a new pampers dry max diaper on my daughter today for the first time and in the matter of 10 min she was screaming and crying as i removed the diaper my daughters skin was inflamed and beat red! She has never had a diaper rash and i have used the original pampers diapers along with many other different brands, she has only ever reacted to this dry max diapers. These diapers need to be recalled and removed off the shelves Also pampers needs to be held responsible for these diapers and stop dancing around it. If so many parents are having problems then something is wrong. WHATEVER YOU DO, DO NOT PUT YOUR BABY IN THESE DIAPERS!”
L.M. said, “My 2 year old daughter has just gotten over a horrible rash that was caused by these diapers... you ask me how I know it was the dry max... I put her in Huggies and the rash went away... coincidence... I think not!”
“On a side note,” she said, “I am all for change but when that change causes severe problems like this then I believe that negligence is in order and P&G needs to make it right instead of sending out its bulldogs to claim that the parents must be doing something wrong.”
M.O.L. said, “I think the message needs to be we no longer support pampers at all because they are not taking these of the market and calling us liars. I for one will never buy pampers again even if and when they fix this problem. I am completely disgusted by a company that would harm babies and not care.”

I had no idea that the Pampers I had purchased was causing the rash my son had for weeks. I took him to the emergency room and the doctor several times. They all said it was an allergic reaction to something, but the rash never cleared up with anything that I did. Not even an anti-histamine. I am currently in contact with a lawyer, something I wouldn't have to do, had they reacted differently to this situation other than making claims that we are all in the wrong. I have used Pampers for 6 years and I will use them no more! -Aggravated Mom
These are just moms after a buck! A brand of shampoo gave me a rash on my forehead--I switched. No reason to sue and definitely no reason to pull dry max off the shelves for the millions of moms who love it like I do! I think Trevor Butterworth's article in Forbes addresses this best (google it!) and I'm committed to directing every reader of every article about this ridiculous mass hysteria to it!
I have always used Pampers and never had a problem (over 2 1/2 yrs now). My daughter has never had a diaper rash and now has a couple of big, painful welts. We just went out and purchased Huggies and BJs brand to see if it goes away but we are pretty sure that it is the Dry Max as well. Not sure why they messed with something that was already working (Cruisers)
Within two days of my twins switching to Pampers with the dry max they both had hot rashes/ blisters. At the time we didn't know it was the Pampers. We took them to the Pediatrician when the skin started peeling off of my daughters buttocks and vagina. My daughter ended up with MRSA and placed on antibiotics three times a day and antibiotic cream... See More. She cried for days anytime we tried to change her diaper... My son did the same but without the MRSA (we were lucky!) We immediately switched to cloth diapers and within days my son cleared up, but my daughter took almost a month to heal completely! She has scars on her legs, vagina and buttocks.
Most recently we had to use some pampers we had left over (ones we didn't give away) I put them on the twins at 3PM and by 9 Pm I was back in the E.R. within the 6 hours my daughter had hers on, the skin blistered and peeled off, leaving blood in her diaper. The doctor explained to me they were burns but he could not say or put it on p
YOU ARE DAMN RIGHT I AM AFTER P&G! MY CHILD HAS SCARS!!! NOT A FREAKIN DIAPER RASH..A BURN. DO YOU KNOW THE DIFFERENCE? MY PEDIATRICIAN DOES....JUST TO MAKE YOU HAPPY I WILL CHALLENGE P&G...THEY CAN RE-DIAPER MY CHILD WITH THE DRYMAX DIAPERS I HAVE, IF WITHIN TWO DAYS SHE DOES NOT HAVE A BLEEDING VAGINA, BUTT, LEGS, AND THE SKIN IS NOT PEELING FROM HER BODY, I WILL DROP MY "RIDICULOUS" CLAIMS. IF SHE GETS MORE CHEMICAL BURNS P&G CAN MAKE OUT OUR SETTLEMENT CHECK TO CASH....DO THEY WANT TO TAKE THE CHALLENGE? I THINK NOT....
I was trying to write a complain about Pampers and realize about the bad experiences that sooo many babies are sufering.
My baby has been on treatment for 13 days and today while I google it know I was right! my baby girl has a big burning rash while she she was using PAMPERS DRY MAX.
Last sunday while a I was at the Emergency Room, I started to remember what did I change on her routine and suddenly came to my mind! I switched to PAMPERS DRY MAX.!!!!!
The doctor at the ER suggested to switch to more natural diapers (on Saturday night, July 3rd)
My baby is using H PURE AND NATURAL and I can see a HUGE improvement in jst two days, still red and itchy but not as bad as used to be.
OMG! thank God today I found these information!!!
