Jon Gosselin parties in Las Vegas
It's official: Jon Gosselin may just win the title of "Worst Father in the World - 2009." His appearance this morning on 'Good Morning America' has all but sealed the deal on this, as he clearly gave no thought to how his words will inevitably reach the ears of his eight children. Gosselin, who is in the process of divorcing his wife, Kate, spewed forth plenty of venom for the woman who bore his children. The stars of 'Jon & Kate Plus 8' are quickly imploding - and the kids are suffering the worst of it.
Since announcing the split, the Gosselins have moved on. Jon was quickly seen out and about with 22-year-old Hailey Glassman, who has received plenty of attention for her extracurricular activities like partying. The two went on a very public romantic getaway to France. Afterwards, Jon romanced a tabloid reporter, Kate Major, in the Hamptons, before heading back to Glassman. He has throw pool parties in Vegas and has acted like a carefree bachelor without a care in the world. Kids? What kids? He's too busy being single.
Kate, on the other hand, has been seen quite often playing with her kids. By no means is she a model mother, as she has endured her fair share of negative publicity, but at least she seems focused on her children. She has said time and again that her first priorities are her children, and her actions seem to prove that. Kate has also worked hard at controlling herself in public interviews where Jon is concerned. Although she has stated that he is making decisions that she herself would not make, she has not been nearly as vicious as he has been because she realizes that her children are not living in a bubble and will eventually be exposed to the animosity.
This morning on 'Good Morning America' Jon took some time out of his busy life to sit down and spill the beans. According to him, Kate abused him verbally and called him a "lame fish." "I took a lot of abuse from her. You know, I was put down," he said. He says he now despises her. "I can't sit on a sofa with that woman. I can't sit on someone right now that I despise—I despise because she's not speaking from the heart. Please, the stuff you tell me in private should be the stuff you tell me on TV."
"I had twins at 23. I had sextuplets at 27. Bye-bye, twenties," he said when trying to explain his much more social lifestyle. Still, he says, he's not all bad. "I want to let the world know that I'm a real person with feelings. Yeah, OK, I made mistakes. Maybe it wasn't the best idea to go out to the clubs." All parents know that it's hard to accept the life changes that go along with having kids, but very few attempt to remedy that by going clubbing and gallivanting about with younger love interests. His excuse is tinged with regret, something that his children will pick up on later.
Has anyone told Jon that his kids have feelings, too? That dealing with the divorce of their parents and being filmed through it all might be more difficult than reclaiming his lost youth? They are not immune to the news, no matter how much their parents try to shield them. Schoolmates most likely say things, not to mention that the two oldest Gosselins, Mady and Cara, are 8-years-old and most certainly have skills where the internet is concerned. At some point they will read all of the statements their father has said about their mother and as anyone knows, it will be unbearably painful for them. Betrayal, embarrassment, and resentment will be sure to follow.
It makes one wonder when TLC will step in and say that it's time to call it quits. How much are these children expected to handle?

Jon is really bad. His poor kids are already going through enough while he goes out and has his fun. He does seem to regret having children at a young age but too bad for him! He has them now and should focus on them. Kate isn't a treat but at least she cares about her children.
TLC needs to put an end to the production of this show. Jon and Kate are causing irreparable harm to their children with the aid of TLC. Jon is disgusting, Kate is a mediawh0re, and no one seems to care about the eight children that brought about the attention in the first place.

TLC will keep the show on forever... or until the ratings drop. TV execs have no morals, ethics or feelings. If Kate is such a great person (as she is trying to portray herself to be), she would have pulled the plug on the show at the separation. But we all know both her and John only did the show so they could be famous. It had nothing to do with the kids...
Nice article. I have been really hard on Jon since the split, because he has acted like a complete jerk. Initially, Kate was my target because of her sharp tongue and condescending remarks especially towards Jon.
Bottom line is these two were mentally still kids when they started having kids. Unfortunately, the KIDS will suffer the most.
