If you enjoyed Here I Am!, the debut album by Caspar Babypants, then you'll be happy to hear that his latest album is just as good. Caspar Babypants, also known as Chris Ballew, the lead singer of local band Presidents of the United States, continues his foray into children's music with More Please! and does so with the same toe-tapping, bluegrass feel that he infused into Here I Am! Not only will your kids be dancing and singing along, but it's a safe bet you will be, too.
More Please! is loaded with 22 songs targeted towards babies and young children to enjoy with moms and dads. Caspar Babypants goal has always been to make his music calming to busy families. He manages to do this easily with songs like 'Take The Sun,' which opens up the album. It's upbeat and somehow manages to make even a rainy Seattle day seem bright. Another fun song is 'I'm a Nut,' which has lyrics that are easy to pick up and will, sorry to say, stick in your head all day (but you won't mind!). Caspar also does a new take on some favorite classics, like 'Spider's Lullaby,' and 'Itsy Bitsy Spider.'
So how do kids react to Caspar's music? Well, let's just say that in one Eastside household, More Please! had two preschoolers up and dancing within about thirty seconds of the opening track. Kiddo #1 said that the album made her want to "wiggle and jiggle," whereas Kiddo #2 exclaimed, "It makes me want to dance!" before promptly busting out with some new moves. Their favorite tunes from the album? 'Rocks and Flowers' and 'Light It Up.'
