Enjoy this caramel-coated apple snack with a third fewer calories than a typical caramel apple. And it's much easier to prepare.
Teri's Skinny Caramel Apple Snack
Wash then chop one large (peel or leave unpeeled) apple of your favorite variety (Fuji, Pippin or Granny Smith work well) into bite-sized chunks. Place in a bowl.
SAFETY TIP: If making this for children, please make sure the chunks are small enough to avoid a possible choking hazard.
Heat 5 unwrapped caramel candies in a microwave-safe dish with 1 1/2 to 2 tablespoons of your favorite milk (fat-free, soy, low-fat) or water in your microwave oven for about one minute. Stir until smooth. Pour over apple chunks, stir until coated.
