If you want your pets to participate in the festivities this Halloween, you can start by dressing them up in a costume.  You can do this without spending a lot of money, and possibly without spending any.  A quick look at websites that sell pet costumes can give you ideas that you can make at home.  Or simply let your imagination run wild.  Here are a few ideas:

Watch Dog

Attach a watch or light-weight wall clock to your dog's back.

Stripper Pet

Attach a bowtie and cuffs to your dog or cat.  (You can cut the cuffs off an old shirt.)

Dog House

Create the shape of a simple house with a light-weight cardboard box, draw a bone on each side, then attach it to your dog.

Cat House

Create the shape of a simple house with a light-weight cardboard box, color the windows red, then attach it to your cat.  (If your cat rebels when you try to attach the house, do not proceed.  Safety first)

Hot Dog

Make a thermometer out of cardboard that reads 150 degrees, then attach it to your dog.

Doggone it!

Get a small rug and place your dog on it.

Lab

Hang specimen bottles, cotton balls, medical tape and syringes (without the needle) from your Labrador Retriever.

Dog Food

Hang empty light-weight food containers from your dog.

Cat Food

Hang empty light-weight food containers from your cat. (If your cat rebels when you try to attach the items, do not proceed. Safety first)

If you decide to buy a costume for your pet, you can find them at the following websites and stores:
